Abstract
Nanopowder of FeAl and Al2O3 was synthesized from Fe2O3 and Al by high energy ball milling. A dense nanostuctured FeAl- Al2O3 composite was consolidated by a pulsed current activated sintering method within 3 minutes from mechanically synthesized powders of FeAl and Al2O3. The grain size, sintering behavior and hardness of the sintered FeAl-Al2O3 composite were investigated.
