Abstract
A nanopowder of MoSi2 was synthesized from Mo+2Si during high energy ball milling for 20 h. Dense nanostructured MoSi2 was sintered from the mechanically activated powder within 2 minutes using pulsed current activated sintering. The average grain size of the MoSi2 sample was approximately 63 nm. The hardness and fracture toughness of the sample also were investigated.
